What is Recovery Point Objective (RPO)?
A Recovery Point Objective (RPO) is the maximum amount of data, measured in time, an organisation can afford to lose in a disruption.
RPO answers 'how much data can we lose?'. An RPO of 15 minutes means backups or replication must be no more than 15 minutes apart. RPO drives your backup frequency and replication design; it is never larger than the RTO.
Resilira derives RPO from how quickly operational and financial impact climb in the BIA, and keeps it consistent with the process's RTO.
