What is Risk Appetite?

Risk appetite is the amount and type of risk an organisation is willing to accept in pursuit of its objectives.

Risk appetite turns risk management from a list into decisions: it sets the threshold above which a risk must be treated rather than tolerated. It is usually expressed per category (financial, operational, regulatory) and approved by leadership.

Resilira scores risks on a 5×5 likelihood × impact heat map so you can see at a glance which sit above your appetite and need a treatment plan.

Put the theory to work.

Resilira turns these concepts into a running program — BIA, plans and compliance, audit-ready in days.
